ABB says it has delivered ‘a state-of-the-art distribution solution’ to ensure South East Asia’s largest floating solar plant – a 250ha site in West Java, Indonesia – can deliver reliable and clean energy to 50,000 Indonesian homes.
‘This is one of many floating solar installations around the world that rely on existing hydroelectric plants to ensure efficient and consistent electricity production,’ says ABB.
Working with on-site engineers, ABB successfully installed, tested and commissioned medium voltage (MV) air-insulated (AIS) primary switchgear during Phase 1 of the project.
The site should prevent the release of 214,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
