The Republic of Congo has just launched the operation to collect the remains to be recovered from taxpayers during the period from 2017 to 2020. The operation to collect unpaid debts that the tax administration has just launched offers taxpayers incentives allowing those who are indebted to the State to free themselves of their debt. According to Séraphin Ndion, the director of general audits and research, these unpaid duties and taxes represent around 100 billion CFA francs. This is a tax effort, argued Séraphin Ndion, to the press on August 30. For example, taxpayers who undertake to pay during the year 2022 the total amount of taxes and duties charged to them for the period 2017-2020 will benefit from a reduction of 30% of the principal amount and 80% of the penalties. On the other hand, taxpayers who dispute the obligations for the period 2017-2020 charged to them and undertake to pay during the year 2022 the total amount of the duties confirmed after the instructions of the claims will only benefit from an abatement 10% of the principal amount and 60% of the penalties. A commission is created in each territorial jurisdiction in order to process complaints and seek the opinions of the competent authorities. The operation which started since August 18 will have to end on December 31, 2022. “ The taxpayer who has taken stock of his debt will set a schedule with the competent authorities, in particular the tax collectors of the Public Treasury. What is interesting is that at the end of the procedure, the recovery notices issued will experience a reduction or abandonment of part of the rights “said the Director of General Audits and Research. The requests will be examined in a short time, it will be enough to pay the expenses of treatment and to respect its commitment.
