ABU DHABI, 2nd September, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, whose activities began in its twentieth session today, celebrates the march of two decades of successes and achievements, and a journey full of appreciation and pride in the rich national heritage and authentic cultural values ​​rooted in the depths of history.

And without the exhibition, the first lines in its success story with the visit of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may his soul rest in peace” for its first session in 2003, to turn into a global heritage platform full of activities that celebrate the rich national heritage and the cultural and historical heritage that reflects the country’s achievements Development and growth at all levels.

Over the course of its first decade, from 2003 to 2012, the exhibition achieved continuous growth and development. In its first session, it attracted 40 companies from 14 countries, and about 192 companies from 21 countries participated in the second session in 2004, and in the third session in 2005 about 353 companies. From 36 countries, and the session in 2006, in which 525 companies from 42 countries participated, and the fifth session in 2007, in which more than 500 exhibitors from 40 countries participated.

The sixth session, which was held in 2008, attracted 526 companies from 37 countries, the seventh session in 2009 participated in 573 companies from 37 countries, the eighth session 2010 attracted 589 companies from 30 countries, and the ninth session 2011 participated in 596 companies from 30 countries. The tenth session 2012 with the participation of more than 600 exhibitors from 40 countries.

The process of sustainable growth and development continued in the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition during its second decade, from 2013 until its current session 2023, which witnesses the participation of more than 1,200 companies and brands from 65 countries.

His Excellency Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Exhibition, Secretary General of the Emirates Falconers Club, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the exhibition, since its first session in 2003, has witnessed continuous growth and development, and constitutes a pioneering platform for celebrating and sustaining the national heritage, indicating that the slogan The twentieth session of the exhibition “Sustainability and Heritage… with a renewed spirit” came to confirm the message of the exhibition since its inception, which is the preservation and sustainability of the national heritage.

Al Mansouri pointed to the keenness of all national companies in the exhibition to highlight the rich and sustainable heritage of the UAE, pointing out that the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition is witnessing in its current session a program full of events and conferences that embody the importance of this specialized event, the largest of its kind in the region. and Africa.

The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about the culture of the UAE and its authentic heritage through the various and innovative activities it offers and aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and wildlife, in addition to encouraging them to practice authentic and environmentally friendly sports in a sustainable manner.
This year, visitors will witness more than 200 activities and events that will be held in the exhibition halls, in addition to a number of specialized heritage, artistic and cultural competitions, for which 64 awards have been allocated.
A conference on “Sustainability of Falconry … Confronting the Challenges of the 21st Century” and a conference on “The Role of the Media in Preserving Falconry and Intangible Cultural Heritage” will also be held within the activities of the event, organized by the Emirates Falconers Club.
The exhibition includes 11 diverse sectors that include various activities, including arts and crafts, equestrian, falconry, hunting trips, safari, hunting and camping equipment, weapons and hunting and shooting equipment, environmental preservation and cultural heritage, outdoor recreation vehicles and equipment, veterinary products and services, fishing equipment and marine sports.

The event is held for the third time in its history over 7 consecutive days, in response to the desire of both visitors and exhibitors.
