Abu Dhabi: Fine if the vehicle is dusty in parked areas. Many people who have gone out of the country on holiday and come back have been fined like this. The vehicle is also marked with an abandoned vehicle notice from the authorities. A person named Mahmoud Ahmed responded to Khaleej Times that he came to know regarding the fine when he received an SMS from the Abu Dhabi Municipality. Later, when I sought information, I was fined for the parked vehicle. He said that the vehicle was covered with dust and that is why the fine was received.

Abandoning vehicles in Abu Dhabi is punishable by a fine of Dh3000 and the vehicle will be impounded. Authorities conducted inspections in Al Dhafra area of Abu Dhabi last week. Inspections were conducted in parking lots and public areas. Abandoned vehicle stickers were also placed on dusty vehicles. Officials reminded residents to keep their vehicles clean and not park in the same spot for long periods of time. Strict checks are being done in this regard in Sharjah and Dubai.

A fine of 500 dirhams is levied for leaving vehicles in both emirates. If such vehicles are noticed, stickers will be affixed stating that they are abandoned vehicles first. Vehicle must be changed and cleaned within 15 days. If the same continues following 15 days, the vehicle will be impounded. You will be fined. Officials also reminded that it would be appropriate to assign someone to clean the vehicle and park it while away from the country for a long period of time for vacation or other purposes.
