According to the Erlangen-Höchstadt District Fire Inspectorate, the 55-year-old was found unconscious in the vehicle, but later regained consciousness.

According to the district fire inspection, the fire brigades of three districts were at the scene. Two qualified first aiders from the so-called “First Responders” from Uehlfeld immediately began looking after the two people involved in the accident. “After consultation with the first emergency doctor from Neustadt/Aisch, the patient sitting in the vintage car had to be carefully freed from his vehicle due to his serious injuries,” reports District Fire Chief Sebastian Weber, press spokesman for the Erlangen-Höchstadt District Fire Inspectorate. “But he wasn’t trapped.” Nevertheless, the fire brigade had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to create a sufficient opening on the driver’s side.

A rescue helicopter was also deployed. The county road was closed while the accident was being investigated. Both vehicles suffered material damage in the mid-five-digit euro range, according to the Höchstadt Police Inspectorate.
