An accident on the Victoria-Monterrey highway left 18 dead peopleafter a tank broke away from a trailer and hit a tourist passenger bus.
The events occurred in the early hours of this Saturday at kilometer 67, in the section of the ejido san francisco of municipality of HidalgoTamaulipas, where a truck from the Castañuelas Tours company was circulating from Huejutla, Hidalgo.
In the opposite direction, a pipe was circulating with two articulated tanks, however, one of them became detached from the unit and collided with the bus bound for Monterrey, Nuevo León.
After the strong crash, the truck began to burn, while the sausage, which was carrying a chemical known as Varsol, overturned on the side of the road.
The driver of the trailer, realizing what had happened, allegedly decided to flee, while the passenger truck was burning, at which time traffic was stopped.
The security and rescue forces arrived at the scene, where they found the bus still burning on one of the lanes.

The Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office reported that it began an investigation into the events that occurred early this Saturday, where 18 people who lost their lives all of them burned, the authorities are working to identify them.
In the area is staff of Civil protection of Municipality of Hidalgo, State Government Civil Protectionelements of the State Police and researchers.
It has been established that the maneuvers by the authorities will take several hours, so the alternate routes may be Victoria-Dr. Arroyo by highway 57 and the Victoria-San Fernando-Méndez and China highway, Nuevo León.
