Through his social networks, the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, reported that his office charged the person allegedly responsible for the fire that occurred in the Mercado de los Corotos, located in the Quinta Crespo sector of Caracas, last weekend.

Saab identified the subject as José Manuel Lafuente, whom he pointed out for what he described as an arson attack.

In the same way, he listed the crimes for which he will be prosecuted in court: aggravated intentional arson, improper handling of dangerous substances, damage to property and justice for himself.

It should be remembered that the incident began early Sunday morning and lasted for several hours until it destroyed 268 businesses on its three floors, leaving no fatalities but total material loss, according to the authorities.
