Video – Amr Diab’s lookalike raises controversy on social media

A forty cattle dealer from Sharkia Governorate, who resembles the Egyptian artist Amr Diab, has sparked a great controversy on social networking sites in Egypt. In his first appearance, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ghamry, known as “Abu Shawwal”, told “Echo of the Country” that he originally inherited many of his father’s features, and no previous resemblance to the star Amr Diab was noticed until the spread of the famous image. He added that his picture next to a similarity to the football player, Majdi Qafsha, which came by chance when he was asked on the blessed Eid al-Adha in 2021 to take a picture with him and then published it a few days ago for the first time. He explained that he was originally from the village of Hod al-Arab in the town of Amrit, the center of Abu Hammad Sharqiya, but his main work was in one of the “salakhans” in the Shubra al-Khaimah area in Qalyubia governorate, in addition to caring for a group of livestock on his land in his native governorate since he was 13 years old.
