The third stage was that of the falls, one of which from Slovenian Primoz Roglic. Accused by some of being responsible for the climber’s fall, Sonny Colbrelli defended himself on the Twitter account of the Bahrain Victorious team.
“Obviously, you never like to see someone crash in a bike race. The accident with Roglic was unhappy. The peloton moved from left to right on the narrow roads in the final of the stage. He came up from behind me to get on, and our handlebars got stuck, which almost pulled us both to the ground. It was only luck that I stayed on the bike. My reaction after the accident was more out of fear than anything else. I’m so sorry for him, and I wish that hadn’t happened, but I don’t think I’m to blame.“explains the Italian champion.
This is what deserved to be clear on a possible responsibility of Colbrelli on this fall which made lose a lot of time for the winner of the last Vuelta.
???? @sonnycolbrelli commented on his crash with Roglič:
“Obviously, you never like to see anyone crash in a bike race. The crash with @rogla was unfortunate. The bunch was moving from left to right on the narrow roads in the finale of the stage. [1/3]#TDF2021
