Acer Nitro 30 Desktop Debuts with Ryzen 7 8700F and Radeon RX 9070 XT

Acer has launched the Nitro 30 prebuilt desktop featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor and an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. Initially rolling out in Japan, the mainstream rig pairs a Hawk Point APU with high-end discrete graphics, landing at a surprising regional price point of approximately 3,166 euros.

Hardware Architecture and the PCIe Bottleneck

Under the hood, the Acer Nitro 30 centers on the AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor. This chip utilizes the Zen 4 architecture with 8 cores and 16 threads from the Hawk Point APU series. However, the hardware selection introduces a noticeable architectural mismatch. The processor limits the graphics card’s bus interface to PCIe 4.0 x8.

That limitation directly impacts the system’s discrete GPU. The prebuilt packs an autorski (custom) model of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, featuring 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a total board power (TBP) of 304 W, and boost clocks reaching up to 2970 MHz. While the card natively supports a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface, the Ryzen 7 8700F restricts its bandwidth.

Memory and storage specs round out the core internals. The machine ships with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MT/s across two 16 GB DIMM slots, though this configuration leaves no room for further memory expansion. For storage, it utilizes a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD, complemented by physical bays allowing users to mount up to two additional 3.5-inch hard disk drives.

Thermal Design, Connectivity, and Pricing Paradox

Cooling duties inside the 9.6 kg chassis are handled by a modest thermal array consisting of two system fans and a dedicated CPU cooler, all accented with ARGB lighting. The overall dimensions measure 438 x 378 x 190 mm. Power is supplied by an 850 W power supply unit holding an 80 PLUS Gold certification.

Connectivity options are robust. The rear I/O panel includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI 2.1 FRL output, three DisplayPort 2.1 ports, a 1 Gbit RJ-45 Ethernet port, a legacy PS/2 port, and three 3.5mm audio jacks. Up front, the case offers one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and two dedicated 3.5mm audio jacks. Wireless capabilities include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.

According to VideoCardz and Acer’s regional rollout details, the system runs on Windows 11 Home and bundles a keyboard, mouse, and power cable in the box. Despite its mainstream positioning and the curious PCIe lane restriction, the desktop launched in Japan at an exchange-converted price hovering around 3,166 euros. This hefty price tag positions the Nitro 30 in an unusual spot for a mid-tier series traditionally aimed at value-conscious gamers.
