The new Acer Swift Go 14 was just announced at CES 2024, and beyond the obvious improvements with a CPU upgrade to Meteor Lake, plenty of artificial intelligence and a beautiful OLED display, the touchpad holds a secret weapon for those who like to binge watch. .
While Acer is getting a little weird with the cheapest glasses-free 3D laptop ever, it’s good to see its core lineup getting a respectable spec boost. But let’s talk about this interesting trick that the company has up its sleeve.

Of course, it’s the $749 Swift Go 14 and the $799 Go 16 that received this tasty spec boost, so let’s take a look at them both. Inside, you’ll find the latest Intel Core Ultra processors – the AI-ready Meteor Lake chipsets that look to boost Windows Copilot.
Along with that, you’ll find that both of these models have been upgradeable with Wi-Fi 7, which will be very useful when the transition from 6E (finally) takes place. The experience is brought together by an OLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, as well as a QHD webcam with plenty of artificial intelligence features for a sharp image and beautiful depth effect.
As for battery life, Acer promises 12.5 hours for the 16-inch and 10.5 hours for the 14. Without properly testing this laptop ourselves, these numbers would be good if the company confirms his assertions.
On paper, this is a spec more reserved for the GB 14 and 16, but the secret weapon lies in the 14-inch model’s touchpad, which appears to have been specially designed by someone on the Acer team with a heavy reliance on tumbling down the YouTube wormhole.
You see, it has a multi-control lighting touchpad — placing media controls right on the deck that become visible when the laptop automatically detects that you’re watching/listening to content.

However, I’m not sure you’ll miss it when you look at the other specs: a Calman-verified 2.8K panel for ultimate color accuracy, up to a beastly RTX 4070 GPU with all the studio drivers for workers Creative and DLSS 3.5 for huge in-game frame rate increases and a respectable range of ports for all your creative needs.
Oddly, the X 14 comes with Wi-Fi 6E rather than Wi-Fi 7. Why didn’t Acer just upgrade all three laptops? Why are significantly cheaper models better prepared for future data speeds than their more expensive siblings?
Either way, these make for a pretty solid laptop lineup from Acer to take the fight to what Asus is about to announce over the next few days.
