Neyyatinkara: A class 6 student who was undergoing treatment for severe burns on his internal organs following drinking a cold drink given to him by his classmate succumbed to his death following three weeks. Sunil-Sophia’s son Ashwin (11) died in Kaliyikavila Metukummal Nullikat. It is not known who gave the drink to the child.
The incident took place on the 24th at Mayakrishna Swamy Vidyalaya, Athamkot, near Kollankot. The boy’s statement is that a student of the school gave him a drink called ‘cola’ while returning to the washroom following the exam. He was admitted to a nearby hospital the very next day following suffering from fever.
Ashwin was shifted to a private hospital in Neyyattinkara on 27th due to vomiting and severe shortness of breath. During the examination conducted here, it was found that the acid had entered and the esophagus and intestines were burnt.
