Actor William Hurt passed away on Sunday at the age of 71announced his family in a brief statement picked up by the US media.
Winner of an Oscar for “Kiss of the Spider Woman” (“The kiss of the spider woman”, 1985), he starred in films such as “Body Heat” (“Fire in the body”, 1981) or “Children of a Lesser God” (“I will love you in silence”, 1986).
Other of his outstanding cinematographic participations were in “AI (Artificial Intelligence)” (“AI Artificial Intelligence”, 2001), “The Village” (“The village”, 2004), “The Good Shepherd” (“The good shepherd”, 2006).
He also played Thaddeus Ross in the Marvel universe.
“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the death of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winner, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday.”indicated the relatives.
The actor died peacefully among his relatives and due to natural causes.
Hurt also acted in such stage productions as “Henry V,” “Fifth of July,” “Richard II” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and received a 1985 Tony Award nomination for “Hurlyburly.”
