Kochi: Police are questioning Dileep’s friend Sarath in a case of conspiracy to assassinate the officers investigating the case of attacking the actress. According to director Balachandra Kumar, Sarath is a so-called VIP. Sarath is being questioned at the crime branch office in Kalamassery.
Dileep, a close friend of VIP Dileep and owner of Surya Hotel-Travels in Aluva, handed over the defamatory footage of the attack on the actress to actor Dileep, the eighth accused in the case. The police found out that it was Nair. Sound samples handed over by director Balachandra Kumar led the investigation team to Sarath. So far, it has been reported that Sarath is absconding. He was twice summoned for questioning by the Crime Branch team investigating the conspiracy case. But he was not present.
Currently, Sarath is not a defendant in the conspiracy case. The VIP in Balachandra Kumar’s revelation was accused of being an unidentified person in a six – accused case. However, Balachandra Kumar himself later revealed that he was VIP Sarath.
Meanwhile, Dileep’s interrogation in connection with the case is entering its second day. Dileep’s interrogation is at the Aluva Police Club. Dileep was questioned once more three months following announcing a probe into the attack on the actress. The interrogation will be led by the ADGP himself. Specially prepared questions are still asked today.
The Crime Branch has prepared a detailed questionnaire including the revelations made by director Balachandra Kumar and the video evidence handed over. But there are indications that Dileep has not given clear answers to most of the questions.
