Adapted football has support from the Government of Luanda – news

The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) is working to find the best mechanisms to support adapted football, with a view to improving the practice of this sport at the level of the country’s capital, according to the vice-governor for the economic sector, Jorge Mingues.

Speaking to the press, during the opening act of the second edition of the adapted football tournament called ‘Mão Boll’, he recognized that this sport has already conquered its space, but with the support of the GPL, it will certainly reinforce the preservation of this championship. modality.

The leader, who was speaking as part of the celebrations of the 30th edition of the Cazenga popular festivals, held on the 9th of the current month, hoped that the competition would serve to reinforce the process of social inclusion in Luanda.

According to Jorge Mingues, teams must compete firmly, resiliently and believe in their potential, to find the best in the next tournaments of the sport.

He recognized the persistence of a group of young people who, seven years later, realized their dream of practicing the adapted sport Mão Boll, a sport currently practiced in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela and Bengo.

The adapted football tournament features four teams, namely ‘Brilho Sol de Viana’, ‘Vitória dos Cuanzas’, ‘Dezanove do Cazenga’ and ‘Fortaleza da Maianga’, who for three weeks will play in an all-against-all system. The first edition took place in 2022.

Adapted Mão Boll football is a sport played by people with physical disabilities in the lower limbs.
