The Egyptian actor, Yahya Al-Fakharani, criticized the nicknames given to his compatriot Adel Imam, including “the leader, the professor,” noting that the name of Adel Imam alone is a title for success.
Al-Fakharani added, during a speech he delivered at the Cairo Drama Festival, which was held in the new city of El Alamein on the northern coast, that the name of Adel Imam cannot be overlooked when talking regarding 60 years of drama.
He referred to the successes achieved by Imam in drama, cinema and television, commenting: “Allow me, there is no drama in 60 years, and we ignore the name of a star who lived among us in theatre, cinema and television.”
He pointed out: “He is given titles that I do not believe in, neither a professor nor a leader. It is possible for a professor to refer to anyone, and a leader in which there is a successful leader and a failed leader, but his name alone is successful, he is Adel Imam.”
It is noteworthy that 3 years have passed since the last artistic appearance of Adel Imam, when he presented the series “Valentino”. After that, he disappeared from the artistic scene to spend his time with his family and children, while rumors regarding his health haunted him from time to time.
