Adesanya retained middleweight belt: all the results of the UFC 271 event

“I knew Whittaker was going to give it his all, but I’m the champion. If anybody wants it, they have to come here.” Those words belong to the Nigerian Israel Adesayawho retained the belt for the middleweight of the UFC at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

The Nigerian fighter won the UFC middleweight title by unanimous decision by defeating Robert Whittaker. The judges card: 48-47. 48-47 and 49-46.

Adesanya defended the UFC middleweight title for the fourth time, which he obtained precisely by beating Whittaker back in October 2019.

The challenger tried to take the fight to the ground. He even managed to drop Israel as much in the first round, but Adesanya was quick to rejoin. The Nigerian’s main weapon was his kicks to the legs, which served to ensure victory for him.
