WhatsApp is set to further strengthen the update that allows group admins to manage members’ messages. Its purpose is to prevent fake news.
Last December, WhatsApp introduced a beta feature that allows admins to delete messages sent by group members. This is similar to the ‘Delete for Everyone’ option. You will also receive a confirmation message and an explanation about the feature.
None of these features are currently available to regular users. It is only available in beta on Android phones. WhatsApp is reportedly considering extending the deadline for deleting messages to 12 hours or two days for regular users.
