Admira U15 vs. RB Salzburg 1:4 (1:0)

Comment Trainer Alexander Belinger:

We were able to keep the first half of the game even. Although Salzburg had a little more possession of the ball, we had more dangerous actions, which meant our lead was deserved. We played our game courageously and were able to outplay Salzburg’s pressing again and again. But we were particularly dangerous in counterattack situations.

Shortly after the start of the second half of the game, Salzburg immediately equalized. As we did against Sturm Graz, we lost a lot of ground after a very good first half. We couldn’t keep up the high pace and were pushed deep by Salzburg. Salzburg was able to deservedly turn the game around, although the third goal, just two minutes after the visitors’ opening goal, was an extremely bitter blow. We tried to be even more offensive and finally conceded our fourth goal on the counterattack.

Salzburg only had one defeat and one draw all season. It was clear that it would be very difficult to score points. Despite the defeat, the performance was good, especially in the first half.

Comment trainer Tilo Morbitzer:

The next top game with very good performance!

After Rapid and Sturm, Salzburg now came to the southern city. Similar to against Sturm, we delivered a very good first half in which we almost kept the opponent in our own half and were unfortunately unable to take advantage of several top chances. We were stable against the ball and, apart from converting our chances, there wasn’t much we could have done better.

In the second half, Salzburg came into the game better and had its first phase of pressure. It was precisely in this pressure phase that we managed to take the lead we deserved, but it was lost again a few minutes later due to the only situation, a corner, that we were unable to defend successfully. In a balanced game, both teams still had a match point, but in the end it remained a draw.

Twice we had Salzburg, in the autumn and now with currently 7 national players, on the verge of defeat, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Nevertheless, we can currently not only compete at the highest U16 level, but also act dominantly and that gives us enough confirmation that we are on the right path.

Admira U18 vs. RB Salzburg 0:1 (0:1)

Comment coach Harald Suchard:

As expected, the game started with a lot of dynamism and aggression from the guests. However, we were able to pick up the pace straight away and were in the game well from the start. Long periods of possession were rare on both sides as both teams played a very intense attacking press. This resulted in a really fast-paced game on both sides. We had 3 or 4 good moves with high ball wins, especially in pressing, but unfortunately we weren’t able to capitalize on them. However, the possibilities were there. The first half was characterized by many duels and 1-1 duels.

Salzburg then took the lead in the 32nd minute thanks to a moment of change. Not necessarily deserved at this point. During the half-time break, the boys recharged their batteries and, above all, expressed the belief that they didn’t want to leave the field as losers today. This could also be felt throughout the second half. However, the number of technical errors increased on both sides as the second half progressed. The very high pace was now clearly visible and so opportunities were in short supply.

We didn’t get in front of the visitors’ goal as often anymore. However, we had the feeling that we could still equalize here today. A few free kicks and corners for us towards the end of the game were an additional sign to force the equalizer. Unfortunately the final score remained 0-1. However, the team can be proud of this performance and it was a significant improvement compared to the game against Red Bull Salzburg in the autumn.
