Adopt bonded rescue cats Cassiopeia and Galaxy together

Cassiopeia weighs over 5 kilograms, seeks out constant affection, and answers to the nickname “Big Boy.” His sister, Galaxy, cuts a much smaller figure but more than makes up for it with attitude.

The two feline siblings, born around May 2025, are waiting to find a permanent home together after spending their entire lives side by side, The Japan Times reported. Discovered by a rescuer alongside two other kittens this past April, the pair were brought directly to Animal Refuge Kansai.

The Bonded Pair at Animal Refuge Kansai

Cassiopeia and Galaxy have never spent a single day apart. Because of their close attachment, the organization is offering them for adoption strictly as a bonded pair.

Their foster family notes that Cassiopeia divides his time between exploring, resting, grooming, and being groomed. He is a stunning all-black male cat who readily welcomes plenty of stroking.

A Big Brother and a Tough Customer

Galaxy sports a tuxedoed black-and-white coat and a very smart demeanor. She can be initially wary and occasionally acts as a tough customer.

In fact, her sharp personality requires her larger brother to mind his manners around her. Despite occasional tussles between the siblings, the playfighting always ends the same way: they routinely curl up together for naps.

Rescue Standards and Screening

Animal Refuge Kansai is an NPO founded by U.K. native Elizabeth Oliver. Operating with offices in Kansai and Tokyo, the organization handles the rescue and rehoming of abandoned animals.

Every cat placed through the organization undergoes strict medical preparation. All animals are vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped before joining a new family.

How to Apply for Adoption

Prospective owners must clear a formal screening process before adoption is approved. ARK provides bilingual support in English and Japanese.

Anyone interested in adopting Cassiopeia and Galaxy can contact the organization by emailing [email protected] or calling 050-1557-2763. Inquiries are accepted from Monday through Saturday.
