London: Britain has repeatedly asked the UN to reform the Security Council by giving permanent membership to India. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly reiterated his support for India during a conference of political and economic experts held in London on Thursday. Permanent membership and reform of the Security Council is the need of the hour for India.

The reputation of the world’s economic powerhouses is shifting from the Euro-Atlantic region to the Indo-Pacific region. Cleverly said India’s permanent membership is essential in this situation. He also demanded that African countries should be represented in the Security Council along with India. China, France, Russia, Britain. U.S. Five countries are the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Only they have the power to veto important resolutions.
