AECOM Wins Cost Management Contracts for Major Irish Transport Projects | Ireland

by

DUBLIN, February 25, 2026 – AECOM has been selected to provide cost management services for both the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), the company announced today. The appointments, awarded following a competitive tender process, will see AECOM support the planning and delivery of major transportation projects across Ireland.

Under the agreement with the NTA, AECOM will act as the sole provider for infrastructure cost management, encompassing cost estimation, risk assessment, value engineering, and the development of standardized cost management procedures. The framework agreement is initially for three years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

Simultaneously, AECOM has been appointed to TII’s multi-party framework for commercial services. This broader scope includes cost management alongside claim advisory, dispute resolution, and expert witness support. The TII framework, spanning four years, will support the agency and its network of regional design offices and local authorities.

Ciaran Timpson, Cost Management Infrastructure Lead for Ireland at AECOM, stated the appointments represent a “significant strategic milestone” for the firm. “These wins strengthen our key relationships with both the NTA and TII as they gain access to AECOM’s industry leading commercial, technical and cost management expertise – providing greater certainty, efficiency and value across their portfolios, and supporting the efficient delivery of complex infrastructure programmes of national importance,” Timpson said.

AECOM’s involvement builds on existing relationships with both agencies. The company currently provides technical advisory and transport modelling services to the NTA through separate frameworks, and technical consultancy and transport planning services to TII. According to AECOM, the new frameworks align with the company’s commitment to sustainable development and delivering infrastructure that supports economic growth.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is responsible for the national road network and light rail/metro systems, operating under the Department of Transport. Recent announcements from TII, on February 23, 2026, detailed the publication of a Climate Adaptation Implementation Plan, while on February 17, 2026, Ministers for Transport announced over €1.5 billion in funding for national and regional roads. The agency is also currently undertaking a consultation regarding a Biodiversity Impact Assessment Standard for national projects.

AECOM, a Fortune 500 company with $16.1 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2025, is also involved in Ireland’s National Cycle Network and the BusConnects overhaul of bus networks in Dublin and Cork. The company’s work in Ireland spans water, environment, energy, transportation, aviation, active travel, buildings and places.
