Wrestler and musician Andy Williams, known professionally as The Butcher, passed away after collapsing at the conclusion of an Enjoy Wrestling event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania, according to wrestling podcaster Famous Davis. Davis shared the update late on Twitter, stating that he received word Williams passed away at Allegheny General Hospital after being rushed there from the venue. Medical personnel administered CPR and used a defibrillator at the venue before rushing him via ambulance.

The incident occurred during Enjoy Wrestling’s Five Years event, marking the five-year anniversary celebration for the promotion held at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Williams was participating in a tag team match alongside his longtime partner, The Blade (Jesse Guilmette), battling for the tag team championship against TME. On Friday night before the event, Williams and The Blade had held a wrestling seminar through the promotion.
Eyewitnesses in attendance recounted that the match seemed to go short as Williams left the ring for The Blade to take a pinfall, remaining outside for the remainder. According to reporting by Fightful, Williams’ legs “buckled” and he fell to the floor. Rich Fann, an attendee who shared accounts of what happened, noted that Williams seemed to be in a dire straits situation, went to a finish, and was a little wobbly before going down. The Blade attempted to help his partner up a bit and tried to get folks to help before realizing the severity of the situation and signaling for urgent assistance.

Attendees and staff coordinated quickly as the situation unfolded. Fans and witnesses noted that once people saw what was happening, the crew, paramedics, and the crowd worked in unison to clear a path, pay attention to calls on the mic, and get him chest compressions, ice, and an AED before he was boarded and got taken out of there by paramedics and police.
Hospitalization and Tragic Confirmation
Following the emergency transport, Enjoy Wrestling shut down the rest of the event, sent everyone home, and announced that members of the promotion had gone to the hospital while waiting for more information.
Later that evening, wrestling podcaster Famous Davis shared confirmation on Twitter, writing: I just received word Andy Williams also known as The Butcher has sadly passed away at Allegheny General Hospital earlier this evening after collapsing at a local wrestling event.

Beyond his independent wrestling commitments in the Northeast, Williams was best known to wrestling fans as The Butcher, teaming for years with The Blade. He wrestled for AEW from November 2019 through 2024, competing as part of the promotion’s tag team division after building his name on the independent scene. Back in June, it was reported that their contracts had expired, and in the time since, they had been teaming together on the independent scene.
Outside wrestling, Williams had an entirely separate career as a musician. He was formerly the guitarist for the band Every Time I Die. Additionally, Williams has been busy in 2026 with his latest metalcore band, Atomic Rule, which is rounded out by vocalist James Henderson, bassist Travis Bennington of Eternal Sleep, and former The Acacia Strain drummer Kevin Boutot.

Before the incident on Saturday, Williams shared a video on Atomic Rule’s social media saying he was “stoked” that the band just finished writing new music and tracking the songs for demos.
“What a productive week we just had,” Williams says in the video, continuing to run through where the band was at as far as new music and what was potentially on the horizon.
