Large fire brigade operation in Affoltern am Albis: On Friday, the balcony of an apartment building on Seewadelstrasse caught fire. The 54-year-old resident had to be flown to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the canton police. Two passers-by who rushed to help the woman were taken to a hospital by ambulance to be checked.

As a news scout reports, he suddenly saw large clouds of smoke opposite his apartment when he opened his window. He then immediately informed the fire brigade. “Shortly thereafter I heard sirens from all sides. There was a huge police, fire brigade and medical corps,” said the resident. The cause of the fire is still unknown and will be clarified by the fire investigation service of the Zurich cantonal police. The damage to property is estimated at tens of thousands of francs, according to the cantonal police.
