A new advancement is bringing much-needed affordable housing to South Los Angeles. The project, spearheaded by SoLa Impact, is taking shape at 10705 S. Avalon Boulevard, replacing former commercial buildings near the corner of 107th Street and Avalon Boulevard.
The five-story building will offer 69 apartments, designed by Malekian & Associates with a contemporary podium-style aesthetic.Notably, the development won’t include on-site parking.
SoLa Impact secured approvals for the project using density bonus incentives and the streamlined permitting process outlined in Executive Directive 1. This approach allows for expedited development of 100% affordable housing units.
The new housing adds to sola Impact’s growing portfolio of mixed-income and affordable housing projects across South Los Angeles. The company has leveraged Possibility Zones to finance these developments, contributing to revitalization efforts in the area.
