Through official letter No. 483-2024-EF-10.01, dated March 11, the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Arista, sent the technical opinion of the sector on this matter to the president of the Parliament’s Economy Commission, César Revilla. discussed topic, through report No. 0042-2024-EF/65.03.

It also indicates that the measure proposed in bill 6566 has a negative effect on the member, “since it reduces his future pension when he reaches retirement age, affecting one of the objectives of social security, which is to ensure the member a periodic payment of a pension based on the amount accumulated for the stage of his or her old age.”

MEF’s grounds for expressing its opinion against the withdrawal of AFP

“PL 6566 contravenes the provisions of articles 10, 11 and 12 of the Political Constitution of Peru and would imply non-compliance with international treaties on human rights ratified by Peru.”

“The application of the provisions of PL 6566 would cause around 6 million SPP members to withdraw funds from their CIC, which would imply a potential outflow of resources of around S/ 29.5 billion” in favor of 6 million affiliates.

“In relation to the recommendations of the OECD, Bill No. 6566/2023-CR does not include what was stated by said organization, which could be counterproductive for the country in its accession process to the OECD.”
