Host Cameroon defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the opening match of the African Nations Championship, in Group A.

Burkina Faso was the first to score in the 24th minute with a Gustavo Sangari goal.

Cameroon equalized first in the 40th minute, through a penalty kick awarded through video technology and shot by Vincent Aboubakar.

After 5 minutes, a second penalty kick was awarded to Cameroon, from which Vincent Aboubakar scored once more the second goal.

The result did not change in the second half, amid an advantage for the Cameroon team.

It is noteworthy that the Cameroon national team is the second most crowned team with 5 titles, behind Egypt (7 titles).
