Due to an ongoing writers’ strike, Marvel has closed pre-production on “Blade,” and production was expected to begin in Atlanta within the month for an expected release on September 6, 2024.
This isn’t the first time Disney has had to delay production on the film. Last October, Disney pushed “Blade” from a 2023 release to 2024 following the original director, Bassam Tarek, left the project two months before shooting began.
They will pick up the film once more once the strike ends, though this timing may be further complicated by labor talks, and it is expected to drag on for a long time.
