The Ministry of Transport published pictures of the four stations that were operated experimentally for the public, namely: 4 tunnel stations (Nasser – Maspero – Safa Hijazi – Kit Kat).
The team, Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, accompanied by Marc Baretti, the French ambassador in Cairo, Christian Berger, head of the European Union delegation in Egypt, leaders of the National Authority for Tunnels and heads of major international companies executing the project in all disciplines, witnessed the start of the trial operation with passengers for the first part of the third phase. For the third metro line (3A).
The Ministry of Transport said in a statement today that the first part of the first phase extends from Ataba station to Kit Kat station with a length of 4 km, which includes (4) tunnel stations, namely (Nasser – Maspero – Safa Hegazy – Kit Kat), passing through the tunnel. Down the Nile from Maspero Station to Safaa Hegazy Station in Zamalek, following the trial run period ended without passengers and the conduct of the train’s running experiments, signals and path control tests.
She pointed out that the trial run period without passengers lasted for 3 months, and the trial operation period with passengers will be for a month, with the official opening of the actual operation with passengers during the COP activities on November 27, in addition to the inauguration of a number of other electric traction projects.
