AHMEDABAD: An autorickshaw driver who invited Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal to his home and hosted a dinner during his visit to Gujarat was in the news two weeks ago. But today, he is a big fan of the Prime Minister and wears a saffron shawl and hat at a BJP rally.
Vikram Dantani, an autorickshaw driver in Daltej, Gujarat, did the U-turn. Vikra Dantani drew attention when she invited Kejriwal to come home in her autorickshaw at an event held at the Ahmedabad Town Hall on September 13. Pictures of Kejira accepting the invitation and going to his house in an autorickshaw and having a meal together were widely circulated.
But Vikram Dantani is now saying that he invited Kej Rival as per autorickshaw union leaders and that he is a big fan of Prime Minister Modi and a BJP supporter.
“Kej invited Rival to the dinner party as per the request of the union leaders. When he was invited to his home for a meal, he accepted. I had no idea it would be such a big deal. I have not contacted any Aadmi Party leader before or after that,’ Vikram Dantani responded to the media.
He added that he is a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and always votes only for BJP.
He came to participate in the rally today because he is a big fan of Modi. I was always with BJP. They are the ones who have voted so far. I am not saying this under anyone’s pressure,’ said the autorickshaw driver.
On September 13, Kejriwal convened a meeting of auto drivers at the Ahmedabad Town Hall to campaign for the Gujarat elections.
