The Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani stated that he would assist the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections once the price of rubber is announced at Rs 300. The bishop had a discussion with BJP District President N. Haridas and Minority Morcha leaders. After the meeting, the BJP leaders released pictures to clarify the details of the meeting. At a farmer’s rally in Alakode, the bishop responded that he would support any government that stands for the farmer. He visited by Minority Morcha District President Arun Thomas, State Co-ordinator Dr. Anoop Thomas and A One Jose. The bishop had also brought up concerns of the migrant population to the BJP leaders. The BJP leaders said that the bishop has made it clear that he will stand regardless of politics.

Regarding the Paramarsh controversy, Pamplani responded to the media that the BJP should not be seen as a mere gang that attacks churches, as they are the ruling party of the country. He reiterated that he does not intend to change his statement. The workers of the minority cell had arrived last week in connection with the conference held in Kannur under the leadership of the Central Minority Department.
