Is Apple evil enough to force the Music app into your iPhone’s dock? We can lend the manufacturer sometimes malicious intentions, however the story that concerns us looks more like a weird bug than a desire to harm. After deleting the Music app, redownloading it from the App Store causes the icon to take the place of another in the smartphone dock!
The replaced app returns to the home screen, while Music reigns supreme among the applications (normally) chosen by the user to appear in the iOS dock. Obviously, this is not normal behavior of the operating system: a downloaded app must be placed on the home screen or in the app library, if that is the user’s will. Then instruct the latter to position it where he wishes.
The Music app icon, once redownloaded, gives no quarter: it replaces any other app in the dock, whether it’s another Apple app (Shortcuts in the video above) or an app third party.
I just verified this on iOS 15.4.1. With Spotify installed and on the dock, installing Apple Music removed Spotify from the dock and put Apple Music there – without asking. Happens without Apple Music being run, so clearly Apple has rigged their OPERATING SYSTEM to do this!

However, suspicion remains with some users. Tim Sweeney, the boss of Epic – in open conflict with Apple – quickly unsheathed accusing the manufacturer of having replaced the Spotify app present in the dock of his iPhone with the Music app. It still smells like a bug.
