The former international referee, Jihad Greisha, published, on his personal page on the social network Facebook, a distress call to officials due to the events in the village of Dandit, affiliated to the Mit Ghamr Center in Dakahlia Governorate.
In his plea, Greisha said: “A distress call to all officials… the people of my village, Dandit Mit Ghamr. We are challenging the drug dealers and we are all out everywhere to end the drug cancer in the village of Dandit. Dozens of outlaws are causing terror in the country, intense shooting and a long night, and the men of the country are being challenged… The people, the army and the police are one hand, many wounded and victims.”
The area in front of the village of Dandit, which is affiliated to the Mit Ghamr Center, Dakahlia Governorate, witnessed clashes and shooting between a number of residents and a group of outlaws in the village, which led to the death of one person and the injury of 5 others, and the security forces intervened to control the situation.
In the details, the Director of Dakahlia Security received a notification from the Director of Criminal Investigation, of a report to the warden of the Mit Ghamr police station about clashes between a number of residents and others whom the villagers described as outlaws and dealing in narcotics.
The clashes developed into some firing bullets, which resulted in the death of one of the villagers, which caused a number of people to gather, and violent clashes took place inside the village, and the railway line connecting (Tanta – Zagazig) was cut off.
The director of criminal investigations, the head of the criminal investigation branch in southern Dakahlia, and the commissioner and officers of the Mit Ghamr Center Investigation Unit moved, and a number of combat groups affiliated with the Central Security Forces were pushed to contain and control the situation.
The forces imposed a security cordon around the village, and combed the area to apprehend the elements involved in the incident in preparation for referring them to the Public Prosecution.
One of the village’s witnesses to the incident said that the villagers rejected the presence of some intruders who promote the trade in narcotics, and when one of the residents reprimanded one of them, he fired shots and sought the help of some of his supporters. Clashes erupted with the residents, which resulted in the injury of 5, and they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The security forces are continuing their operations inside the village to control the situation and arrest the elements involved in committing the incident
