Yemeni artist Ahmed Al-Shaiba died in a terrible traffic accident two days ago in New York City, USA, where he has been residing since 2012.
The late is a famous oud player, who gained great popularity and presence in the Yemeni art scene. Al-Shayba was famous for redistributing international music and songs on the oud, most notably the music of Adele’s song “hello”, where he was able to sweep Western art with the oud, and break the well-known rule that the oud instrument is only in line with With oriental art, according to (her).
Al-Shaiba was born in June of 1990 and grew up in Yemen, where he learned to play the oud by listening instead of reading notes, before moving to the United States and settling there in 2012 to “show the world the beauty of his old instrument”.
It is reported that the Lebanese artist, George Al-Rassi, passed away at the age of 42, a few weeks ago, in a terrible traffic accident, in the international zone separating Lebanon and Syria.
