The Egyptian media, Reham Saeed, apologized to the families of the late artists, Mamdouh Wafi and Ahmed Ratib, after their names were implicated in the case of the artist Wafaa Makki’s torture of two domestic workers in an incident dating back to 2001.
And she announced, in a post on Facebook, that she would stop showing the “Sabaya Al Shams” program this week, attributing the reason to “health reasons.”
Saeed said, “I apologize for not appearing in my episodes this week for health reasons. Another thing that has nothing to do with the disease. I swear to God, I never meant that someone would be upset with me, and I always speak from my heart.”
And she added, “I apologize to the families of the artist Mamdouh Wafi and the artist Ahmed Ratib, may God have mercy on them, for what was broadcast on the program, although the source insists on the news until now, but the families of the artists certainly know more.”
Saeed confirmed that no news was broadcast on her program without evidence or documents, but finding them was “impossible” because the case occurred 23 years ago.
And she indicated that she would apologize live: “It is natural that the artists stand side by side in crises, but if the news is not true, then I apologize a million times, and the most important thing is that no respectful person will ever be upset with me, and an apology will be made on the air because these are the principles of the profession, not for any reason.” Again, if God wanted and healed me.”
Saeed concluded her post by saying, “And I thank Dr. Ashraf Zaki a million times for his continuous support for me and for all artists, living and dead.”
Wafi and Ratib families
Saeed faced anger from the families of Ahmed Ratib and Mamdouh Wafi, after shedding light on their relationship with the artist Wafaa Makki’s case regarding the torture of the two workers.
Lamia Ratib, through her Facebook account, asked Reham or any of the preparers in the program to prove what she said with evidence within 48 hours or to withdraw her statement.
And Ahmed Ratib’s daughter pointed out that she does not believe that anyone agrees with this statement about her dead father, who had nothing to do with the artist Wafaa Makki, but was following the course of the case from the newspapers, like the rest of the Egyptian people.
For her part, the artist, Yasmine Wafi, the daughter of the late Mamdouh Wafi, decided to sue Saeed.
And she said on Facebook: “We, the family of the late artist Mamdouh Wafi, deny what Reham Saeed mentioned in her program, regarding the relationship of the late artist with the case of the artist Wafaa Makki, and the family confirms that Mamdouh Wafi has not been named, from near or far since the issue was raised. in any investigations or court rulings.
And she added, “The family has already taken, since yesterday, all legal measures regarding defamation and defamation in the name of the late artist, Mamdouh Wafi, without evidence or evidence, and the above-mentioned legal measures will not be stopped, except with an official apology from the channel itself, the program, and on the air.”
In 2001, Makki was accused of torturing the two workers, and she was sentenced to 10 years in prison with hard labor, but the sentence was later reduced to 3 years, so she graduated in 2004.
