Residents in Cilegon City are facing major challenges in obtaining clean water, following the decision to cut off the water channel that usually supplies their area. This decision occurred after a viral video of the failure of a legislative candidate in Cisuruh village, Merak, Cilegon City. As a result, residents were forced to look for clean water by walking up to two kilometers up the hill.

The Cilegon City Government has responded by providing water assistance to affected residents. This step was taken to help residents facing difficulties in getting clean water, especially in the month of Ramadan which is just around the corner.

One resident, Saiba, said that since the water line was cut off, he and other neighbors had to walk long distances just to get water. However, he is grateful because now there is assistance provided by the city government.

The Mayor of Cilegon, Helldy Agustian, stated that his party had heard information regarding the water channel problem which had been resolved to the residents. Even though they have not visited the location directly, the city government has taken steps to provide water assistance to residents who need it. (Z-10)
