A delivery stop was announced two weeks ago, and now a popular manufacturer is returning to the Rewe shelves. You can find out what customers can look forward to again here.
The Württemberg Weingärtner Zentralgenossenschaft (WZG) had stopped deliveries to the supermarket giant Rewe on April 1st. The negotiations about a price increase of around five percent had failed, which is why the wines should disappear from the Rewe range.
Nun reported However, the “Lebensmittel Zeitung” reports that the WZG delivery stop has been lifted. This was apparently also confirmed by the company director Uwe Kämper when asked.
The WZG range includes the Württemberger Original grape variety lines and the Sweet & Fruity range throughout Germany. The products have so far achieved a sales volume of several million bottles each. In addition, several local and lager wines were listed regionally.
Rewe: WZG wines will be delivered again
At the request of the LZ, the WZG emphasized that the delivery stop was supported by all full and partial delivery member cooperatives. It was the first delivery stop in the history of the company, which ended at least briefly a supply relationship with Rewe that had existed for decades. The board of directors of the WZG emphasized that in view of their own cost increases, they saw no other option.
Also interesting: Customers from Rewe, among others, have been informed about a recall for a few days. Elevated levels of photoinitiators were detected in a batch of Notos sheep’s cheese. The consumption of the products can cause damage to the kidneys and liver. More on this find out here.
