Some drug prices witnessed an increase, as follows:

- The price of diabetes medicine, insulin Maxtard, increased to 63.5 pounds instead of 55 pounds.
- The price of Antinal intestinal antiseptic capsule increased to 26 pounds instead of 21 pounds.
- The price of New Clav for treating respiratory infections increased to 75 pounds instead of 60 pounds.
- The price of Anti-Cox 6 ampoules for treating arthritis increased to 42 pounds instead of 31.5 pounds.
- The price of the anti-inflammatory Predsol syrup increased to 14 pounds instead of 11.25 pounds.
- The price of Predsol Fort syrup increased to 26 pounds instead of 20.75 pounds.
- The price of cordarone 200 mg tablets for heart patients increased to 48 pounds instead of 40.5 pounds.
Moving drug prices in the Egyptian market
During the current period, the drug market is witnessing a movement in the prices of a number of pharmaceutical items, especially antibiotics, nutritional supplements, and medicines for treating respiratory diseases, as well as children’s medicines and medicines for the digestive system. Therefore, drug companies submitted requests to the Egyptian Medicines Authority to move the prices of medicines because of the associated risks. Losses, especially since all production requirements are imported from abroad, and the dollar has increased significantly.
