After the semi-failure of 5G, Finland is already working… on 6G

It’s a little paradise for studying and innovating. With its multiple cafes, its enormous beanbags for napping, its “fablab” for 3D printing and even several hairdressers, the ultramodern university of Oulu, in Finland, is nothing like French faculties.

On the roof, a private 5G network provides superconnectivity for 14,000 students. All around, 400 sensors monitor temperature, humidity, sunshine… Crucial information in this snow-covered corner of Lapland, just 200 kilometers from the Arctic Circle. On this winter day, the thermometer drops to -15 degrees and the sun sets at 3 p.m.
