After the storm in Bahía Blanca, there is an alert for strong storms in ten provinces

Yesterday’s storm Sunday left a balance of 13 people dead in Bahía Blanca and one in Moreno, fallen trees, flooding and roof blowing. For today they warn of weather alerts and request precautionary measures.

What will happen today? The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued alerts for ten provinces: Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Corrientes, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Santiago del Estero, Chaco, Formosa, Salta and Jujuy.

For the inhabitants of the areas under storm alert, the SMN recommended avoiding outdoor activities, not taking out the trash and removing objects that prevent water from draining; Be alert to the possible fall of hail and to minimize the risk of being struck by lightning, do not stay on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools.

For the area of Entre Ríos and southeast of Santa Fe indicated Orange alert by storms. This alert, it is noted, means that “dangerous meteorological phenomena for society, life, property and the environment are expected.”

Accumulated precipitation values ​​between 70 and 90 millimeters are expected throughout the area, and may be exceeded from time to time, according to the meteorological agency.

For Corrientes, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Santiago del Estero, Chaco, Formosa, Salta and Jujuy the alert level is yellow. Also for Baradero, Ramallo, San Nicolás and San Pedro, in the north of Buenos Aires; for the entire Santa Fe territory that is not under the orange level; for Corrientes and the east of Córdoba.

Storms are expected there, some locally strong, which may be accompanied by intense electrical activity, occasional hail, and abundant fall of water in short periods of time. Localized strong gusts are also not ruled out.

The meteorological organization estimates accumulated precipitation values ​​between 40 and 60 millimeters for these regions, which may be exceeded from time to time.

The same weather conditions are expected in Santiago del Estero; the northwest of Almirante Brown and General Güemes, in Chaco; the Formosa towns of Bermejo, Matacos and Ramón Lista; and in a large part of the province of Salta.

For the Jujuy districts of Ledesma, Palpalá, San Antonio, San Pedro, Santa Bárbara, Valle Grande and the lower area of ​​Doctor Manuel Belgrano and Tilcara, accumulated precipitation values ​​are estimated between 20 and 40 millimeters.
