After walking naked in the street, the American actress was detained in a psychiatric facility

Actress Amanda Bynes was confined to a psychiatric facility early Sunday after refusing to take her medication despite suffering from bipolar disorder.

An eyewitness told TMZ that Bynes, 36, who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, was walking around the streets of Los Angeles completely naked when she stopped a car and told the driver she had escaped from a psychotherapy episode.

At the time, Bynes called the police and was immediately taken to the nearest police station, where a mental health expert determined she needed to be transferred to a psychiatric care facility. (fuchsia)
