BEIJING – Heavy rains from the foothills of Typhoon Haikui have caused widespread flooding in southeast China. Cities in Fujian province had to shut down subway services, close schools and evacuate residents, authorities said on Wednesday. More than 36,000 people were evacuated from their homes.
