TOKYO (Reuters) – The Nikkei average in the afternoon was hovering around 37,800 yen, up about 950 yen from the previous business day. In the early stages of the market, the price rose close to 1,000 yen, and the price remains firm. Continuing from the previous session, stocks with large contributions to the index and major stocks were bought, supporting the index. In the market, a strategist at a foreign securities firm said, “With no particular negative news in sight, there is an increasing movement to selectively look for stocks with good performance and semiconductor-related stocks.”
Individually, Tokyo Electron (8035.T), opens new tab rose 12%, one step higher. Recruit Holdings (6098.T), opens new tab, SoftBank Group (9984.T), opens new tab each trended steadily, increasing by more than 6%. Mainstay Toyota Motor Corporation (7203.T), opens new tab and Sony Group (6758.T), opens new tab are also performing well.
