A crowd of people, among them friends and relatives, gathered shortly after 3 in the afternoon at the church where the body of the unfortunate young man arrived.

According to his information cretaposton Clean Monday, the two friends were brought before the prosecutor of who allegedly procured the flares. Both stated that the particular flares had not been bought from a store but from a boat owner which had expired.

The prosecutor brought criminal charges against them for possession and use of flares and he remanded them for trial on May 13.

At the same time, he ordered a preliminary investigation in order to fully investigate the origin and route of the flares.

According to eyewitnesses, the 33-year-old held the flare right in front of his abdomen and in his attempt to detonate it, it exploded and caused serious injuries to his liver.
