2023-10-10 19:08:20

The Pro League and the Belgian Football Union (URBSFA) have reached an agreement concerning the strategic plan developed by the Professional Refereeing Department (PRD) of the federation, the Pro League, the body which represents Belgian professional clubs.

This strategic plan focuses on improving the quality of refereeing, improving the quality of VAR, more transparent communication and quality training and support for referees. It comes into force immediately and has a horizon of 2026, specifies the Pro League.

Consequence of this plan: the match compensation for referees and their assistants is increased, with retroactive effect from July 1, 2023. The compensation received by the referee of a D1A match thus increases from 2000 to 2200 euros. That for a Challenger Pro League match goes from 550 to 615 euros.
