Brussels – Stricter limit values for air pollution will apply in the EU from 2030. Negotiators from the EU states and the European Parliament agreed on this on Tuesday evening in Brussels, as both sides announced. The directive sets stricter limits and targets for several pollutants, including particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and ozone. However, the EU states ensured that in some cases they would not have to comply with the new values until 2040.
