when did the case start
In January 2020, the Leonas traveled to Mar del Plata to carry out the preseason. García Sarmiento had gone to the hotel where the Argentine players were staying to leave a note for Albertario that said: “Hello puppy. Big kiss. Take care! Love U”.
From there, the harassment was systematic through social networks. The man even sent videos in which he was semi-naked. The player went to court and she filed a complaint with the judicial authorities of the resort city and also of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
On that occasion, the prosecutor Fernando Daniel Castro, head of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) 1 of Mar del Plata, intervened, and assistance was requested from the provincial police. They requested at that time “a measure of restriction of approach and all kinds of electronic contact” against the harasser García Sarmiento.
