West Palu Sector POLICE (Polsek), Palu, Central Sulawesi, appealed to livestock farmers in their jurisdiction to increase vigilance in anticipation of livestock theft ahead of the Idul Adha holiday celebrations.

West Palu Police Chief, AK Rustang said, as has happened in previous years, cases of livestock theft, especially goats and cows, have increased ahead of Eid al-Adha in the West Palu area.

“Therefore, increased vigilance needs to be carried out by all breeders. “What’s more, the West Palu area is an area with lots of animal farms,” he explained to Media Indonesia in Palu, Sunday (12/5).

According to Rustang, vigilance needs to be increased, starting from impounding the livestock after grazing to the livestock pen must be provided with adequate lighting.

“Apart from that, we need to increase the security of the cage door as much as possible,” he stressed.

Rustang added that his team would also routinely carry out patrols in areas where there are many farms. This is to provide more security to breeders.

“Every night we will intensify patrols. “So that security can be truly maintained, especially from livestock theft,” he stressed.

Previously, the South Palu Police uncovered a case of cattle theft in the Kawatuna Village area, Mantikulore District, Palu on Thursday (2/5). The perpetrator, known to have the initials MI, was arrested along with two cows as evidence. (Z-8)
