His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Supreme Chairman of the Emirates Group, issued Forbes Middle East’s first list of “The Strongest Travel and Tourism Leaders in the Middle East”.
The list highlights 50 leaders in travel and tourism in the region who are driving the sector towards growth and working to provide opportunities for individuals by reconnecting with the world. The group’s revenues amounted to $6.7 billion in the first half of the 2021/22 fiscal year, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, ranked third. The members of the list represent nine countries in the region, topped by the UAE, where 24 business leaders reside, followed by Saudi Arabia with 11 leaders, then Egypt with 4 leaders, while the hotel and hospitality sector dominates the list with 26 leaders, followed by the aviation sector with 17 leaders, and the tourism sector with 7 leaders .
