TRANSPORT – New boosts for the purchase of a bike. State aid will be increased this Monday, August 15, with additional amounts for people with disabilities or low income, according to a decree published this Saturday in Official newspaper.

The maximum bonus for buying a electric bike will thus go from 200 to 300 euros and will no longer be conditional on the payment of aid from a local authority. It remains reserved for people whose tax income per unit is less than 13,489 euros.

Change for the conversion bonus

For people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per share is less than or equal to 6,300 euros, the aid may go up to 400 euros. The latter will also be entitled to higher aid to buy a cargo bike, a folding bike or an electric bike trailer: the maximum bonus that can be granted to them will increase to 2,000 euros, compared to 1,000 euros for the other beneficiaries of the assistance.

For all other types of bicycle, they will be entitled to aid equivalent to 40% of the purchase price, up to 150 euros. Finally, for people with disabilities or low incomes who wish to get rid of a polluting vehicle to buy an electric bicycle, the maximum amount of the conversion bonus is increased to 3,000 euros, compared to 1,500 euros for other aid recipients.

In a communiquéthe Ministry of the Economy specifies that “these aids can be combined with each other and with any local aid”, and will be in force from August 15 to December 31, 2022. conversion bonus will also be accessible to several members of the same tax household from January 1, 2023.
